Monel K 500｜ Alloy K 500｜N05500｜Pipe and Tube
Monel K 500 (Alloy K 500, UNS N05500) is a high-strength and corrosion-resistant nickel copper alloy. It is composed of approximately 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% aluminum, as well as some other elements such as iron, manganese, titanium, and silicon.
The hardness of it is Rockwell C hardness (HRC) 28-34, which makes it have higher strength than some other high-strength alloys. The melting point of it is about 1315 ℃ (2400 ℉), making it have good stability in high-temperature environments. So the maximum service temperature of it is below 1100 ℃ (2000 ℉). It’s mechanical properties are excellent under high strength and high temperature conditions, and can be used to manufacture various mechanical components, such as pumps, valves, springs, bolts, etc.
It has excellent corrosion resistance and can operate in seawater, acidic, and alkaline environments. In addition, it also has excellent wear resistance and heat resistance, which makes it outstanding in high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-strength applications. In addition, It is also a weldable and machinable material, so it is easy to manufacture and process.
